Six Months Gone. Now What? A Gentle Way to Review and Refocus
We’re halfway through the year, and honestly, I nearly missed it. I’ve been so focused on what’s next – planning, creating, pushing forward – that I hadn’t taken the time to stop and ask: How’s it all going, really?
If you feel the same, this post is your gentle nudge to take a moment. To reflect. To reconnect.
Designing Life, Not Just Letting It Happen
I talk a lot about intentional living. It’s not about chasing perfection. It’s about staying awake to the life you’re creating. That means checking in with what’s working, what’s not, and where you’re being pulled.
It’s not about doing more. It’s about doing what matters.
My Mid-Year Review Process (In a Nutshell)
Here’s what I do:
- Look back at each month so far and write down key memories and milestones
- Reflect on what brought joy, what felt heavy, and what I’d do differently
- Revisit my word of the year (this time, it’s joy) and ask: am I living it?
- Mind map key areas of life: art, money, personal, work
- Ask: What do I need to be, do, have?
- Print a 6-month calendar and carve in time for the things that matter
- Choose 1–3 main areas of focus and shelve the rest for later
It’s a mix of reflection and dreaming, with a dash of practicality.
A Reminder: You Get to Choose
Sometimes we lose sight of the things that light us up. Hobbies fade. Habits shift. Joy gets buried under the to-do list.
This is your invitation to bring those things back to the surface. Even if it’s just a sliver of time. That’s where change begins.
So, what would you love to see more of in the next six months?
