10 Years of United ArtSpace And We’re Celebrating YOU
Ten years in the creative world can feel like a lifetime and at the same time, like the blink of an eye. The landscape shifts, our work evolves, and so do we. Whether you’ve just started your creative journey or have been at it for decades, one thing remains constant: creativity asks us to keep becoming.
As United Art Space celebrates its tenth anniversary, I’ve been reflecting deeply on what’s kept me going and what lessons have stood the test of time. Here are three truths that continue to guide me, and that I hope will help you shape your next chapter, too.
1. Know Your Why: It’s the Fuel That Keeps You Moving
Every creative journey starts with a spark – that feeling that you must make something. But as the years roll on, it’s easy to lose touch with what first lit that fire.
Your why is what carries you through uncertainty. It’s what helps you keep creating when things don’t go to plan, when sales are slow, or when self-doubt creeps in.
For me, the “why” behind United Art Space was simple but powerful: I wanted to help artists connect, grow and thrive. I wanted to build a life around creativity – one that worked with my own mental health, my ADHD, and my desire for freedom.
When you’re clear on your why, the rest falls into place. It shapes the work you do, the people you help, and the kind of creative life you build.
2. Comparison Is a Thief: Create Your Own Path
In a world where everyone shares their highlight reels, it’s tempting to compare your path with someone else’s. You see another artist’s success and think you’re falling behind. You start second-guessing your ideas or changing your direction just to fit in.
But your creative voice is yours alone.
There’s wisdom in learning from others, yes – but not in measuring yourself against them. You don’t need to do what they do. You don’t need to sound like them, paint like them, or sell like them.
Comparison distracts you from your purpose. Focus instead on your own rhythm – the work that makes your heart beat faster. That’s the work that will resonate with others.
3. Mindset and Community Are Everything
The longer I’ve worked with artists, the more I’ve realised this: success doesn’t come from talent alone. It comes from mindset and community.
You can have the best art in the world, but if you don’t believe in it, if you don’t trust yourself enough to share it, it will stay hidden.
That’s why surrounding yourself with the right people matters. Find those who understand what it means to live a creative life, who’ll remind you that you can keep going when you want to stop.
At United Art Space, I’ve seen thousands of artists transform, not just through learning the practical side of art, but by shifting how they think. Your mindset determines how you respond to challenge, opportunity and change.
A Decade In, and Still Becoming
Looking back over ten years, the biggest truth I’ve found is that creativity isn’t static. It grows, shifts and reshapes itself – just like we do.
As we mark our 10th anniversary in 2026, we’ll be celebrating with an in-person event that’s all about exactly this: how to live, create and become.
It will be a day filled with inspiring talks, creative reflection, art-making, and connection – a chance to pause and consider who you’ve become through your art, and who you want to be next.
