You know that feeling when money just seems to flow in and out of your account, leaving you wondering if there’s an easier way to live? Many of us have experienced that moment where financial stress feels like an ever-present weight, making us question if abundance is even possible.

Recently, I found myself in that exact situation. Despite running a successful creative business, I was stuck at the same financial level for years. No matter how much came in, it seemed to disappear just as quickly. It became clear that I needed to change something—not just in my business, but in my mindset.

That’s when I began to truly examine my relationship with money. What I discovered has been transformative, and today, I want to share two key steps that have made the biggest difference in creating a sense of financial abundance.

Step One: Understanding That Money Won’t Solve Everything

A few years ago, I set myself a big financial goal—£50,000 in a year. I was convinced that reaching this milestone would solve all my worries. I believed that once I hit that number, life would be easier, less stressful, and somehow, I’d feel different.

Well, I hit that goal. And do you know what happened? Nothing changed. Yes, I was able to pay off some debts and start paying myself a proper salary, but the stress didn’t vanish. I had a business to run, a team to support, and new responsibilities that came with reaching that level of income. The money came, and the money went.

What I realised is that money itself doesn’t create happiness. Of course, it can provide opportunities, relieve certain pressures, and improve quality of life. But the idea that a financial goal alone will suddenly make everything better? That’s an illusion.

The real shift happens when you start seeing money as an energy—something that flows in and out, rather than a fixed source of security or self-worth. When you understand this, you stop putting pressure on a certain number to bring you happiness and instead focus on what truly brings you fulfilment.

Step Two: Changing How You Think About Money

For years, I was stuck in a scarcity mindset, constantly thinking, I can’t afford that, That’s too expensive, I shouldn’t spend that much. Without even realising it, I was reinforcing the belief that money was something hard to come by, something I had to hold onto tightly or risk losing.

The turning point came when I began to consciously shift my language and perspective. Instead of saying that’s too expensive, I now say that’s the price. It’s a simple shift, but it removes the emotional weight. Instead of immediately assuming something is out of reach, I ask myself:

  • Do I actually want this?
  • Do I have the money for it?
  • If not, is there a way I could afford it in the future?

By reframing my thoughts, I stopped reinforcing scarcity and started opening myself up to possibilities. I no longer automatically dismiss big financial goals as unrealistic. Instead, I treat them as challenges to explore, asking, What steps could I take to make this possible?

Breaking Free from Limiting Beliefs

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that financial growth isn’t just about numbers—it’s about belief. If you don’t believe you can achieve a certain financial goal, you’ll subconsciously sabotage your efforts. But when you start focusing on possibility rather than limitation, you give yourself permission to explore new opportunities.

For example, I’ve been working on expanding United Art Space, envisioning it as a bigger company with a dedicated office and a larger team. Initially, my mind was flooded with doubts—That’s too big, It’s unrealistic, What if it fails? But I’ve committed to only allowing one vision in my mind: the vision of success. I picture our future headquarters, the thriving team, and the impact we’ll create. I no longer entertain the doubts, and already, opportunities have started aligning in ways I couldn’t have predicted.

Abundance Is a Mindset

The reality is, financial abundance starts before the money arrives. It starts with how you think, how you speak, and how you approach opportunities. Scarcity thinking keeps you small. But when you start believing in the possibility of more, you begin to attract it.

I won’t pretend this shift happens overnight. I work on it daily—reading affirmations, visualising my goals, and consciously pushing away limiting thoughts. But I can tell you this: it works. Not only do I feel more confident and assured, but I’ve also started seeing real financial shifts as a result.

So, if you’ve been feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or limited by money, take a moment to reflect. Are your thoughts reinforcing scarcity, or are they opening the door to abundance? The choice is yours.

Change your thoughts, and you’ll change your reality.
