How Did my Book get To Number 1 In Less Than 12 Hours?
How I Achieved #1 on the Book Charts in Just 12 Hours—and How You Can Too
“How did you get to number one so quickly?” It’s a question I’ve been asked a lot lately, and I’m excited to share the answer. If you’re a creator—whether you’re writing a book, launching a new project, or showcasing your art—this is for you. I’ll give you a glimpse of what it took for me to hit that milestone, and if you’re hungry for more, join me on September 2nd for a deep dive during my “Make Art Your Living” workshops.
The Power of Visualization and Purpose
When I set out to write my book, becoming a bestseller was always on my radar. I visualized it, dreamed about it, and yes, a part of me thought, “Wouldn’t it be amazing to say I’m a bestselling author?” But beyond the ego-driven goal was a deeper motivation—I wanted to create something meaningful. I wanted my book to land in the hands of people who needed it.
So how did I turn that dream into reality? It wasn’t just about writing a good book; it was about connecting with people—my “art village,” as I like to call it. This community was instrumental in helping me craft a book that resonated, spread the word, and ultimately drove those crucial early sales.
Building Your Art Village
You might think, “But I’m not selling anything.” That’s okay! Whether you’re launching a book, promoting an event, or even showcasing a mural like my friend Simone did, the principles are the same. You want people to see your work, to engage with it, and to connect with the message you’re putting out into the world.
For me, building this village didn’t happen overnight. It took years of connecting with like-minded individuals, learning from them, and offering my support in return. This network of people became my sounding board during the writing process, helping me refine ideas, edit drafts, and navigate the complexities of publishing.
But it wasn’t just about having people around me; it was about having the right people. People who understood my creative vision, who could provide constructive feedback, and who were genuinely interested in the success of my project. This is what I want to help you build during the workshops—your own art village, a network that supports your creative journey and amplifies your voice.
Finding Your Voice, Purpose, and People
At the heart of this process is alignment. When your creative work is aligned with who you are and what you stand for, it becomes easier to connect with others. Your purpose becomes clearer, and you naturally attract people who resonate with your message. This is why my book is titled Find Your Voice, Find Your Purpose, Find Your People. It’s a journey of self-discovery that leads to powerful connections.
The quote by Seth Godin, “You can’t be seen until you learn how to see,” encapsulates this beautifully. It’s about taking the time to reflect on your work, understanding its purpose, and ensuring that it truly expresses your voice. When you do this, you’ll find that the connections you’ve been missing start to appear.
Why You Need to Join the “Make Art Your Living” Workshops
If you’re ready to dive deeper into this process, I invite you to join my workshops starting September 2nd. We’ll take one piece of your work and dissect it—exploring why it exists, what it means, and who it’s for. By the end, you’ll see connections you might have missed, and you’ll have a clear roadmap for connecting your work with the right people.
The workshop spans a couple of weeks, giving you plenty of time to absorb the material, watch replays, and ask questions. It’s the last time I’ll be running this for a while, so don’t miss out if you’re serious about taking your creative work to the next level.
Remember, you don’t need thousands of people to make an impact. Sometimes, all it takes is a small, engaged group of supporters—your art village. Let’s build that together. I hope to see you on September 2nd.
Take care, and keep creating.
