Change is everywhere. It’s in the world around us, in the conversations we have, and in the art we make. And whether you’re feeling it right now or not, it’s inevitable for every artist.

Sometimes it arrives quietly, other times it shakes everything up. It can throw us off balance, especially when things used to make sense and suddenly… they don’t anymore.

Step 1: Ground Yourself First

When change starts happening, my first instinct is to bring myself back to centre. I do this through grounding – simple, everyday things like journalling, breathing, going for a walk, or limiting the noise around me.

It’s about pausing long enough to hear my own thoughts again, not the world’s.

Step 2: Name What’s Changing

Clarity often comes when you give shape to what feels foggy. I ask myself:

  • What’s feeling off?
  • What’s no longer working?
  • What might be ready to shift?

This isn’t about fixing everything. It’s about being honest with myself. Acknowledging what’s changing makes the unknown feel less overwhelming.

Step 3: Let Go and Make Space for What’s Next

Change often requires letting go of something – even if it’s just a mindset. I imagine setting it gently on a shelf to create room for something new.

Then I take one small step. No pressure to have it all figured out. Just a quiet, intentional move forward.

Change Takes Courage

Change isn’t always comfortable, but it’s part of growth. One day, you’ll look back and see how brave you were to trust the process. So keep grounding, keep listening to yourself, and keep moving even if it’s just one step at a time.
