How we've helped others

After a 30-year break from art, I joined UAS and the Hub feeling lost, out of work, and depressed.
I found Michelle and a great community of artists who got me out of a rut, helped me find my voice, and help me sell. My art has developed into something I could never imagine.
I've met artists, made amazing friends, found support, I've sold originals, commissions and prints - it's been an amazing journey.
Everything I need to move forward in my art journey is in the Hub. It's perfect.

Before the Hub, I was making art and exhibiting, but I was not selling. In fact, I was spending all my spare dollars on materials and paying entry and exhibition fees. I didn’t even know how much I was spending because I was too scared to really know the cost.

NOW

I am a full-time artist who spends almost every day in the studio. To be a full-time artist has been my life’s ambition and is my biggest achievement. I am living my dream and doing work that feels good, and I believe my work helps others to feel good too.

Before joining the Hub I felt quite isolated and unsure of what steps to take to start making proper income from my chocolate art. I have become reconnected to how being creative is a core part of my being. I think the Hub is a fantastic resource and is very well created so that it is user-friendly and helpful. I particularly value the studio sessions on Friday as they help me get on with being creative as I have a tendency to procrastinate.

The advice and guidance in The Hub has given me the confidence to be myself and do what I love. I am achieving all my goals, I have been featured in a magazine, received my first ever commission, am in talks with a gallery - I can’t thank the UAS Hub enough

I have never been able to call myself an artist and today I am sitting with business cards and my art out in the world. I wouldn't have made this step without your support. You are making such a difference to my motivation, and the help in the Hub is amazing.

When I joined The UAS Hub I suffered imposter syndrome and wouldn’t dare approach a gallery. Not anymore! I have had the most amazing year, made friends, had a solo show, sell my work and have learnt so much.

"Before I started the 7 Keys, I was selling my A4 framed artwork for $30 which was OK because it cost me $8 to produce. But I wanted to charge more but was afraid people wouldn't buy.

Since what I have learned from the course I have worked on my pricing and last night a client confirmed a $1,130 project and deposited an initial payment of $900 into my bank account.

"I met with a local gallery yesterday, and was asked to bring along some work after I emailed asking for information on how to exhibit and have my work for sale there.
They would love to sell my work and have offered me a 6 week exhibition.
I'm so Happy!
I used all my skills from the 7keys when showing my work and explaining what and why and they liked the fact that I'm doing a series based on a local theme (Cromarty Firth).

I’ve completely changed style/direction with my work since taking the 7 Keys course, then I receive an email from a leading Interiors magazine inviting me to have my work featured with them. WOW ~ blown away!
